5 Great BBQ Books
If you’re new to the world of BBQ, and looking for a few BBQ books to get you started. It’s by no means mean to be exhaustive, it’s just books that have inspired me, and that I think will give you a good grounding in U.S. style of Barbecue.

Barbecue Bible

Steven Raichlen’s Barbecue Bible was the first book I got on BBQ, I picked up my copy at the first Grillstock I went to, there’s a real depth of recipes, not just traditional BBQ, lots of grilling, and ideas from around the world.

Barbecue Crossroads

Barbecue Crossroads is so much more than a BBQ cookbook, it takes you on a journey, so you can get into the soul of barbecue, the recipes are awesome, but putting them in context makes the book so awesome.

Slow Fire
Slow Fire

Slow Fire is from BBQ Legend Ray “Dr BBQ” Lampe, a man who lives and breathes barbecue, the recipes are all spot on, there’s so much we can all learn from this man, but if you are starting out, this will give you the best of starts.

Smokin’ is a book that will get you thinking about cooking competition style Barbecue, loads of tips and tricks written beautifully simply by Myron Mixon, when you want to step up a level, and start cooking competition style BBQ this will see you right.

If you’re looking for something a bit different, Smoke by Tim Byres is a cracking Outdoor Cooking book, it’s all about packing loads of flavour into your food, and working with some and fire to create some really special meals. My current favourite book, that I simply cannot put down.

I hope you enjoy these Barbecue books, let me know what your favourites are?
