ProQ Pizza Stone Review
Cooking Pizza on a bullet smoker isn’t something usually done, these smokers, such as the ProQ Frontier are designed to put out a relatively constant 110 deg C /225 deg F for Low’N’Slow Barbecue, so I was intrigued to see how the searing temperatures required for good Pizza could be achieved 300+ deg C.
I fired up the ProQ Frontier with good quality lumpwood charcoal and put the pizza stone on the level just above the coals on it’s rack with the lid on and vents open wide. After about 20 minutes, the stone was looking pretty hot, so I tested with a Pizza.

The Pizzas cooked really well, the dough puffed up on the edges, and the underside of the pizza had a wonderful crust, all in about 4 minutes, which equates to around 300 deg C, I was pretty impressed, there was a good balance of top heat too. These were thin crust napoli style pizza, if you were cooking thicker pizzas and breads you could move the stone up a level on top of the first stacker.
